TRUE Lacrosse Top Cheese Tournament

The Senior Boys team attended the TRUE Lacrosse Top Cheese Tournament at Kettle Moraine and finished the weekend undefeated to win the Tournament Championship!
Scores were:

SP Seniors 9   Waukesha 2
Sp Seniors 2   KM Gold 1
SP Seniors 7   KM Blue 5.

GIRLS VARSITY & JV
Thursday May 17th 6:30pm - Girls Varsity Game vs Middleton
Senior & Parents Night. The Senior girls and their parents will be announced before the start of the Varsity Game.

The JV game has been schedule to start at 5:00pm.

BOYS VARSITY & JV
Thursday May 24th 7:00pm- Boys Varsity Game vs West/Edgewood Crusaders

This past weekend the girls Varsity Team competed in a Varsity only tournament at Kettle Moraine.

They had a very successful weekend with a winning record or 3-2. The scores were:

• SP vs Oconomowoc - WIN 7-2
• SP vs Kettle Moraine - LOSS - 8-3
• SP vs Waukesha - WIN - 6-4
• SP vs St Charles - LOSS - 11-0

The Girls High School Lacrosse Club made a visit to the UW Children's Hospital in December to deliver handmade Christmas Cards to the Children. They received a written thank you from the Manager of Child Life Services, Julie Auenson.

Thank you girls for your community service during the off season and off the field.

In late October 2011 we were very excited to have hired a new Boys Varsity Head Coach, Mike Ring. In late November 2011 we learned Mike’s little boy Finnegan was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Mike and his family have been diligently providing love and support to Finnegan through this tough time. Meanwhile Mike is going to continue to support the club and the Boys Varsity & JV teams with his knowledge and love for lacrosse as one of the assistant coaches.
 
We too, as a club, would like to extend our love and support to Mike, his family and Finnegan.

Girls High School Varsity Coaches

Available: Immediately

Position Description: The Sun Prairie Lacrosse Club is currently seeking Girls Varsity Coaches starting with the pre-2012 season. The Girls Varsity program has been growing since its inception in 2005 and we are in need of an experienced and principled coach to grow the program and take the large number of returning players to the next level. This is a coaching-only position.

The ideal candidates will:
• have lacrosse experience playing and/or coaching at the college level.
• possess strong player development, communication, organizational skills as well as a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport and team.
• be able to effectively motivate and develop both the novice and experienced player.
• need to be able to attract new athletes to the sport and be available for practices scheduled after school hours from February to beginning of June.
• support an off-season program and camps to develop players and promote the sport within the school.
• be active in and support a growing youth feeder program and develop a coach “mentoring” program through the youth levels.
• attend all required athletic department and association meetings and events.
• work with the HS Girls Team Rep (Manager) on scheduling, uniforms and effective communication with players and parents.

Salary: Competitive/Stipend.
Appointment: Part-Time.
